August 12th to be declared Don Narcisse Day in Saskatchewan
Don Narcisse Day presented by SaskEnergy in support of KidSport™ is set for declaration by the Province of Saskatchewan on August 12th. Narcisse, who now resides in Texas, will be welcomed back to Saskatchewan as part of the Canadian Football League's (CFL) Hall of Fame induction weekend.

Sobeys Saskatchewan raises over $23,000 for KidSport™ Month
Each year in May, KidSport™ Saskatchewan recognizes the value of participation in sport by celebrating KidSport™ Month. Committees and groups across the province organize fundraising events throughout the month, with all proceeds going directly to help less fortunate children participate in community sport programs.

Thank You Saskatchewan for helping to raise $198,260 during KidSport™ Month in May
During KidSport™ Month this May, local KidSport™ committees in communities across Saskatchewan hosted a variety of events and activities, including the Great Saskatchewan Hot Dog Sale and Kompanies for Kids. Through Kompanies for Kids, organizations and businesses allow their employees to dress casually or in their favourite sports attire for either a day or a week in exchange for a donation to KidSport™.

Give a Little, Help a Lot
Annually, Loblaw Companies Limited (Loblaw) corporate and franchised stores run a nation-wide charitable campaign that helps colleagues, franchises, franchise employees and customers make a difference in their local communities. For one week in June, this campaign allows customers to add $2 to their grocery bill at Real Canadian Superstores as well as Extra Foods to help kids in need in their community. Let’s all do our part and turn a small donation into something big!

The campaign runs from June 18 through 25, 2010.

Saskatoon's WakeRide 2010 River Festival is raising money for inner city youth

Inspiring inner city youth to believe anything is possible is the goal of a new summer festival in Saskatoon's downtown. WakeRide, a youth- and family-centered festival taking place on July 9-11 at Rotary Park and River Landing, is a combination of world-class wakeboarding competitions, great music and summer fun. Featuring pro-riders, like Saskatchewan-born world champion Rusty Malinoski, and hot music from The Trews, Default and more, the event is expected to attract up to 20,000 people to Rotary Park, as well as to the family-oriented activities at River Landing.
